Russell C. Brennan – Maiko’s Photo Journey : The Making Of A Muse

Russell C. Brennan is the world’s only male Geisha (Total Artist) and photography is one the things he excels at with the world-famous Saatchi Art (Who now represent him) calling him and artist or recognition and significance. He has taken many iconic photos over the years and featured in exhibitions along with other photography legends as well as having a number of solo photo exhibitions in the heart of the art world in London.
Aurelie Freoua is a top French Abstract painter often referred to as the John Coltraine of Abstract art. The two met in 2014 and decided to work together in 2015 after Aurelie was blown away by Russell’s photography.
All top photographers are known to have an inspirational muse and Aurelie, who he rechristened Maiko (Which means apprentice Geisha) became his. But as she is a fellow artist and they were both into pushing the limits and boundaries of art & photography it was slightly more than muse and photographer and many stunning images were achieved over a 10-year period.
So, to celebrate this milestone of ten years of photo creations they have decided to release this limited-edition photo book containing over 200 photos and many stories behind the photos and an insight into the two artists themselves with at least half the photos included being rare and unseen ones exclusive to this book.
Although some of their photos have featured on book and music releases their preferred avenue of exposure is through limited edition canvases of their work. Usually only 10 if each making them very collectible and they often go up in price. So, it’s highly recommended to get these, which are currently very affordable by getting at exhibitions or by contacting the artist. Otherwise, you can get them from Saatchi Art website at more expensive prices.
Russell’s two previous photobooks (Voyeurs Welcome Vol.1 & 2) which sold out within two weeks and now change hands at 15 times the original price, so with this being another limited-edition item if you can’t afford a canvas this is the next best thing.
